The Essential Community was founded by sisters Jenny Stohl and Ann McCotter in January 2014.  You’ll find posts from both of them on FB, Instragram, Pinterest and at

Jenny’s Bio: I am the oldest sister!  My husband Anthony & I were married in 2011.  We recently moved (from our farm) to a house in a small city (Blue Grass, IA) and are now only 1/2 mile from my parents and less than 2 miles from my brother and family!  We have adjusted to city life and love having family so close.   I found essential oils through Ann (secretly I thought she was cra cra) but I now admit that was the best thing that has happened to me!  I love learning about removing toxins from our home and  DIY projects (from beauty to home cleaning projects).  I have been able to help my allergies, asthma, blood pressure and PCOS (diagnosed almost 30 years ago) with essential oils and natural solutions!  I also love cooking and expanding my creations with my Instant Pot!!  I am on a mission to help the health of myself and my husband’s as well as try to influence my parents health choices(that is a HUGE chore).  I am thankful for our oil teams, our Facebook followers and everyone who trusts us with their health and wellness questions!  I love this journey we are on to improve our health and wellness!!

Ann’s Bio:  As the younger sister, I am always willing to take a risk and try a new DIY recipe, explore the more controversial health topics, and in general challenge the status quo.  Those traits have  helped me to overcome health struggles and I want to share what I have learned with all of you.  I am still learning on the journey to living my healthiest life.  Learning is my passion and I love exploring the latest trends in natural health and wellness.  My health journey started about four years ago when I was sick and tired of being sick and tired.  On five prescription meds for allergies, asthma and high blood pressure, I found essential oils could help manage many of my symptoms.  Today, I no longer need prescription meds and avoid all over the counter products opting for natural alternatives.  I believe that food is medicine and have benefited greatly from research into vitamins and supplements.  As a mom of two teenagers, I am on a mission to help my kids live their healthiest lives as well.  And I feel especially accomplished every time my husband adopts a new healthy habit! Our family of four shares our home in Green Bay, Wisconsin with Stella, our four year old cockapoo (cocker spaniel and poodle mix).
